Space Physics Department

The Space Physics Department at the Space Research and Technology Institute conducts fundamental and applied research in the near-Earth space environment, focusing on space radiation, ionospheric physics, and space weather.

Our work integrates physical models, mathematical methods, and the analysis of space-borne and ground-based data to advance the understanding of the near-Earth environment.

Space Radiation

Space Radiation

Energetic particle populations and radiation effects in near-Earth space.

Ionospheric Physics

Ionospheric Physics

Plasma processes and electrodynamic coupling in Earth’s upper atmosphere.

Space Weather

Space Weather

Solar–terrestrial variability in near-Earth space and the upper atmosphere.

Ethics

Scientific integrity, academic freedom, intellectual independence, and responsible research practice form the normative basis of the Department’s work.

The Department supports the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, and promotes their implementation within the Institute.
